3 WAYS TO MAKE THANKSGIVING TURKEY

Are you ready to make THE BEST Thanksgiving Turkey this holiday season? Trust me, these 3 recipes will elevate your turkey day to the next level!


Thanksgiving is one of my FAVORITE holidays, and I like to take the time to show my family love by cooking my soul food meals. I also use this time to reflect on what I am most Thankful for such as the blessing of life, optimal health, and the relationship that I've cultivated with my family and friendship.



THANKSGIVING TURKEY RECIPE


When it comes to turkey are your more of the TRADITIONAL type, prefer EVERYTHING FRIED, or like to switch it up and add some extra spice for a JERK FLAVOR?


I always like to cook for the different taste preferences that my children and my sisters have so I like to do a little bit of EVERYTHING fried, jerk, bbq, and traditional.


Now that the COUNTDOWN to Thanksgiving has begun I decided to start a series where I share weekly recipes here on my blog and on my youtube channel if you're more of a visual person.

Let's get started with these Thanksgiving Turkey Leg Recipes





RECIPE 1: MUSTARD-BAKED TURKEY LEGS W/ GRAVY

INGREDIENTS:
  • Yellow Mustard of your choice (I use French)

  • Savory Herb Soup Mix by Lipton

  • Garlic Pepper Adobe

  • Chef Shell Soul Food Seasoning

  • 4 to 6 Turkey Legs


INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Wash and clean Turkey Legs

  2. Squeeze Mustard all over wings and massage in (use gloves or clean hands)

  3. Marinate overnight or at least 2 hours

  4. Once you have marinated sprinkle 1 or Two of the Lipton savory herb on both sides of the wings and

  5. Garlic pepper Adobe on both sides and Soul Food Seasoning to Taste

  6. Baked covered for 3 hours on 350 or until it's to your desired tenderness

  7. You can eat with or without Gravy Serve over Rice or Dressing

RECIPE 2: JERK BAKED TURKEY LEGS



INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 to 6 Turkey Legs

  • Garlic Pepper Adobe

  • Chef Shell Soul Food Seasoning

  • Jerk Seasoning (I use Graces or Badias)

  • Jerk BBQ (Find it in the international aisle use any Brand)

  • Green Seasoning (Find it in the International aisle use any Brand) Can substitute Fresh or Frozen

  • Green, Red, or Yellow Peppers


INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Wash and clean Turkey Legs

  2. Season with Garlic Pepper, Chef Shell Seasoning or any All Purpose, Jerk Seasoning, Green Seasoning

  3. Marinate overnight or at least 2 hours, Once marinated take a knife and punch a few holes in the

  4. Turkey drums

  5. Baked covered for 3 hours on 350 or until it's to your desired tenderness

  6. Add Jerk BBQ and Broil for 4 to 5 minutes until browned and sticky

  7. Serve over Rice or Dressing



 


RECIPE 3: OVEN-FRIED TURKEY LEGS

INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 to 6 Turkey Legs

  • Garlic Pepper Adobe

  • Chef Shell Soul Food Seasoning

  • Onion Powder

  • Poultry Seasoning

  • Butter or Olive Oil

  • Kentucky Fried Coating

  • Roasting Pan with Rack

  • Butter Injection or Make Your Own

  • Olive Oil Spray or PAM

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Wash and clean Turkey Legs and pat dry

  2. Inject Legs with Butter Injection

  3. Rub with Butter or EVOO

  4. Season with Garlic Pepper, Chef Shell Seasoning, Onion Powder, Poultry season coat with

  5. Kentucky Fried Coating

  6. Spray Liberally with Olive Oil Spray

  7. Baked Uncovered for 1 ½ to 2 Hours or until desired Crispness.
